Yas Chicken Evicted From Middlesex Marketplace Location

Yas Chicken, the popular, Massachusetts-based fried chicken franchise, has permanently closed its doors to their Burlington location at the Middlesex Marketplace, the plaza across from the Burlington Mall.

There was an eviction notice on the door of the restaurant dated May 21.

Court documents posted on the state website state that Yas Chicken were issued a notice to vacate the premises by DIV Middlesex Marketplace LLC due to failure to pay rent owed under their lease. Yas Chicken Burlington had failed to make an appearance in court to defend their case.

Yas made an announcement through a Google posting on Monday.

“It is with a heavy, heavy heart to say that Yas Chicken Burlington is closed for good. This is just as sudden to us, the great team that brought your favorite chicken meals, as it is to you all, our community in Burlington. The entire staff is devastated and shocked by the news of the closure of this location.

For over 2 years, we built a welcoming home to serve this community. We worked hard to serve you our best and your love and support in return showed us that our hard work paid off, by bringing happiness and joy through our food. We always valued the community we served, and you all played a role in making us a top location for everyone.

We want to apologize that we can no longer serve the community that welcomed us with open arms and that we love dearly.

So for a final time, from your Burlington team, we say goodbye. Thank you again for the memories, love and support. We hope to one day see you all again!”

Yas Chicken first opened in Burlington in February 2024. There are other locations throughout the state, as well as Providence and Las Vegas. You can find more information on their website.
